Performance and Engine
The XF’s well-rounded powertrain is one of the most welcome discoveries. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine in the S and SE produces 247 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. While this isn’t as powerful as other rivals, it’s more than enough to get the XF around town. With outstanding throttle response, a thrilling exhaust sound, and a smooth eight-speed transmission, acceleration is seamless. If the driver wants to change gears manually, Jaguar supplies paddle shifters. The EPA estimates that it will earn 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, which is possibly the best feature of this powertrain.
Similarly, the more powerful engine in the R-Dynamic SE mixes performance with efficiency. Its turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. It doesn’t feel all that much faster on the road, but the increased power doesn’t seem to harm gas mileage much, with EPA estimates of 23/32 mpg.
Interior
Inside The XF’s is spacious and classy, and it comes with a lot of features for the money.
